The Aradia Duet

Classical
About:
Abigail Peacey and Emma Dixon formed The Aradia Duet, in September 1999 after both gaining their BA Honours Degrees in music from the Welsh College of Music and Drama after which both Cellists gained their Post Graduate Diplomas in Solo/Ensemble Recital at the Royal College of Music where, as The Aradia Duet they have received coaching from Alexander Boyarsky, Jerome Pernoo, Lowri Blake and Madeline Mitchell. The diversity of culture brought by both of the players into the duet brings a myriad of sources of inspiration to the music that they perform, ranging from the tenderness of the English countryside to the fiery passion of the Celts. Having performed individually as far afield as Spain, France, America, Belgium and Austria, both are already accomplished young musicians in their own right. After making their first performance together in the spring of 1999 performing the Vivaldi Double Cello Concerto, The Aradia Duet has performed on several occasions since at other venues in Britain, including engagements at Berkeley Castle, Winchester Guildhall, The Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, The National Gallery London as part of the Belle Shenkham Music Series and also in Fulton House and Walton on Thames as part of the Musicair productions Starsigns concert series. The Aradia Duet also make appearances at more unconventional venues such as a recent guest appearance with the up and coming band “Eeebleee” at the Oxford “Truck” Live Music Festival.
