Please find below a short synopsis of Perfect Day Films feature film "Life In Colour" (currenly in pre-production), and outlines for the three major characters which we are currently in the process of casting.
Life In Colour
The story of one man and his coming to terms with his life ....following his suicide.
John Doe awakes on a beach.... head shaved, naked and with no memories. Travelling across a bleak landscape he eventually finds refuge in an imposing abandoned hospital.. but he is not alone. Inside he finds three other disparate characters. Trapped together on this island the characters find themselves embroiled in conflict as each tries to discover how they found themselves here, why, and.. most importantly.. how they can ever leave.
Mary - 14 years old, quietly mysterious. Mary is the symbol of tarnished innocence.. a young girl struggling to find her place in a world that will not allow her to be a child or an adult. Experimenting with images of romantic Goth she is John Does one link to all things beautiful and innocent.
(physically Mary should be at that transition between child and adult, with a slim build and height ranging from 4'10- 5' 3)
Aunty - Old and wrinkled, wheelchair bound and bitter. Aunty, the former ballerina now embittered against all things young and beautiful. Aunty is the matriarch, nemesis of Mary and very much the powerful female character in this disparate group.
(physically Aunty should be slim [ wirey])
Tommy - Tommy.... straightforward, masculine, large and imposing. A man's man and potential friend to John, Tommy's inner demons soon come to the fore as he attempts to crush the innocence of Mary and rebel against the maternal controls of Aunty.
(physically Tommy should be at least 6'2 and heavily built. This character requires the physical stature to intimidate but also the flexibility to be the protective father figure)
We are currently in the early stages of casting for the above roles. Any info/headshots/showreels which you feel might be suitable would be gratefully received.
