Mediam Productions is now casting for ‘An Eye for a Tooth’, an intercontinental thriller. Shooting will take place in July 2004.
This short drama, to be shot on a digital format, portrays the story of Efkan and Charlotte as they share a comfortable existence in West London. Efkan is successful and extremely content with his career, beautiful and intelligent wife and his bright and healthy young son. It all seems a bit too perfect…
One telephone call from his native Turkey manages to spin everything on its head and bring a dark secret from his past bursting into deadly light.
Below is an outline of the talent required to complement our production team. We are keen to hear from applicants with appropriate levels of expertise who would like to work alongside an experienced and dynamic team…
Location Manager (familiar with S and W London)
Sound Operator (with equipment preferred)
Camera Assistant
Art Director/Prop Buyer
Storyboard Artist
Runners x2/Owner-Driver
This is a self-financed, low-budget production. Crew and cast will have agreed expenses covered and receive a VHS or DVD copy of the finished film. The production will be catered.
For the cast, Mediam will be holding auditions in 4th and 5th June for the following roles:
Efkan: Early 30’s, Turkish or Mediterranean in appearance. Doesn’t have to speak Turkish but should be able to emulate a few lines.
Charlotte: Late 20’s, lead female, very much the English rose; pretty, graceful and intelligent.
Burak: Around 19 years and fluent in Turkish. A troubled and anxious assassin, he is being forced into killing Efkan.
Cetin: Late 40s/early 50s. He is the villain of the piece. Speaks fluent Turkish. Still fully committed to the old ways of Turkish culture, Cetin is forcing Burak to kill.
Efkan’s Mother: Efkan's mother is seen at three stages in her life. First, she is a peasant wife in eastern Turkey in her mid 20s, then, soon after, a city-dwelling factory worker. She makes her first spoken appearance in the story as a middle-aged woman, telephoning her son. Fluent in Turkish she is the archetypal caring mother.
Efkan’s Father: Early 30s and Mediterranean looking. Doesn’t need to speak Turkish but should be able to emulate a few words.
Young Efkan: Approximately 10 years old and fluent in Turkish. An easy-going child.
PC Henry: A compassionate uniformed officer who would like to be of more assistance than he officially can when Efkan’s life is thre
