I agree with you entirely Anton, it's a difficult situation as most short/student films I have taken part in I have done so because the script/synopsis has been something that really interests me and I would like to use for showreel, however, knowing that you are amoungst tough competition to get the role it's difficult to ask for money when you know the chances of them choosing someone who'll work for free are very high. I agree that if ALL actors could ask for what they believe to be a fair fee then it would be different. Until then (ahem!) I stick to my original point. No more non-paying work for me!
