Well, personally in my case.. I think Johnny Oddball may have a lot of explaining to do.. If you're casting for actors and extras to be part of your own movie project.. The first thing that comes to mind is, how are you going to look after them? Really and truly, the producer or director should do what they can in order to provide food, travel expenses, or even if they have enough money.. to provide them accomadation. If I was to do what Johnny did, I'll probably end up with no-one volunteering to participate in the movie. Mainly because the actors or extras are not interested in paying out their money towards a movie that has no budget. Nowadays, I see a lot of filmmakers advertising stuff for no/low budget film projects. I can't blame them for that. But really, at least they're doing all they can to make a movie. Money is tight. Funding seems impossible for some.. But money is the only key to get your movie made. If you don't have any money or any funding, you will get problems trying to get your movie project off the ground. But, as for me.. I wouldn't pay a producer money for their location costs or even bring a packed lunch. Let alone a tent which I don't have.. For this casting, my advice is.. If you don't like what you see, leave it!
