I've been with Springboard for one month as a trial basis and I have applied for extra work in Coronation Street and The Bill and have heard nothing. I feel they need to review their situation vacant when advertising TV/Film as alot of it doesnt make any sense. Trouble with extras/walk-on agents/agencies is are they reputable? If so, what have they worked on and more importantly how much is it going to cost you to join? Sometimes an agency will have so many existing clients and new clients that they find themselves unable to cope with the work load. I have managed to find work as an extra (and a few of my friends) by simply approaching tv/film production companies to find out what is currently in production? Whos dealing with the casting? Do they require extras? No one is going to contact you for work, so you have to spend time contacting them, be determined and maybe a little pushy to get your foot in the door - it certainly saves paying a percentage to an agent!
