Date: 2006-08-06

CASTING – DEFERRED PAYMENT
Now casting for the following roles for the filming of the first half of feature-length horror film entitled ‘Stag’.
COMPANY
‘Stag’ is Straightwire’s second feature, being produced on the back of ‘Gnaw’ which despite still nearing the end of post production has sparked a great deal of excitement among Sales Agents and Distributors, whom have compared the film to ‘the hugely successful Saw’ and ‘Hostel’ franchises, and offered various acquisition deals for the film, including looking at exclusive 3-4 picture deals with Straightwire. Indeed, one sales agent in particular called the film the best he had seen in the entire Cannes Film Festival in 2006.
So it’s an exciting time to be joining us!
FILMING DATES:
23rd – 29th September (inclusive) Note. Exact schedule may be shorter, and to be confirmed depending on role requirements.
The remainder of the shoot to be undertaken post The American Film Market (exact dates TBC). Where we will showcase a trailer which we will produce from the first half of the shoot, in order to raise the remainder of the budget to shoot the 2nd half of the picture - for which we would of course use the same cast.
FORMAT:
High Definition Video (with 35mm optics)
SYNOPSIS:
It was meant to be a weekend to remember...
But it turned into a weekend that they’d never forget!
Six young guys from the city head up country for forty-eight hours of non-stop partying, packed with booze, drugs and rampant sex.
But out on the river, in the middle of nowhere, the last thing they expected was a killer on the loose.
When pleasure turns to pain, death is just a heartbeat away.
‘Stag’.
Your last weekend of freedom...
Enjoy it while it lasts!
SALARY
The film is a being financed through private equity, but due to the nature of the way it is structured, e.g. we are shooting half the film in order to raise the budget for the second half of the film at AFM, the budget is tight and as a consequence we have made the decision to use what equity we do have to put on screen.
Consequently roles will be on a non-negotiable deferred payment basis. Where we will be using Equity Minimum rates as a guide.
All Food/ accommodation/ and travel expenses will be covered and you’ll receive the standard DVD of the film.

Character Biographies
TOM POOLE - ‘The Groom and Lawyer’, “Judge”
TOM, (28 years old, good looking,) is a Criminal Defence Lawyer.
When he’s not defending in court, he’s training at the gym, honing his body to perfection.
A loyal man to his family and friends, TOM has one major soft spot; his bride to be, AMY.
MICHAEL SPEARMAN - ‘The Best Man and Soldier’, “Rambo”
MIKE, (28 years old, athletic, good-looking,) is an ex-marine.
Discharged from his unit when an under cover operation went wrong, MIKE returned back home to London.
MIKE now works with young offenders and through his new line of work, he’s re-united with his oldest childhood friend, TOM.
MIKE remains single, despite the fact that women constantly fall at his feet.
ALEX TRUPEC - “Doc”
ALEX, (28 years old, unassuming and handsome,) is a doctor, currently working at Guy’s Hospital, London.
A nervous character, ALEX is prone to erratic mood swings. His gullible nature means he’s often taken for a ride. A keen runner, ALEX keeps himself in great shape, physically.
TATE HANLON - “Treebeard”
TATE, (25 years old,) is a man of many talents. By day he’s a tree surgeon, working in the Royal Parks of London. By night he’s a D.J, with a profitable sideline in dealing Class A narcotics.
Confident and outgoing, TATE is a daredevil risk taker. No challenge fazes TATE. He’s up for anything and everything.
ANDREW MORGAN - “Chef”
ANDY, (good looking, 29 years old,) is a “no nonsense” chef, working in a high- class restaurant in London.
It wasn’t always this way. ANDY was kicked out of law school following a bust for possession of Class A narcotics, supplied by TATE.
ANDY is easily led and a little in awe of MIKE. A good team member who knows how to gauge a mood.
JAMES HALL - “Brando”
JAMES, (26 years old, good looking,) graduated from drama school but has struggled to find decent work. He’s a little embarrassed that he’s better known for a series of cheesy insurance commercials.
JAMES is a great mimic. He finds it easier taking on a role than actually playing himself. At ease in the company of women, his natural charm is obvious.
OLD MAN ARAWN
OLD MAN ARAWN,(early 60’s) is a man of the forest, who’s very rarely found cause to lea
