Robert, a Medium frustrated by scraping a living with simple party tricks, is hired by George to find the truth behind the brutal deaths of his wife and children. George is convinced their house is possessed by an ancient evil, but as the dead return to tell their stories, Robert discovers a horror far more real than any ghost story.
The shoot takes place in November, in and around the Bradford/Halifax/Hebden Bridge area of West Yorkshire and will last for two weeks, then a couple of weekends for bits and pieces. We are looking to cast the following parts:
1) Robert – Our protagonist; a great believer in spiritualism, he works mainly as a medium with the recently bereaved. We are looking for an actor in his 30’s/40’s, small in build but with a powerful presence.
2) George – A powerfully built man in his late forties, hardened by years of manual labour. Physically intimidating; a bully.
3) Gillian – George’s ex-wife, mid-late forties. Years of unhappy marriage and dissappointments have left Gillian slightly bitter.
4) Tamsin – Mid-twenties, attractive. Tamsin is Gillian’s daughter, although she has been the main breadwinner since her father left. Responsible, and wise beyond her years she looks after her younger brother but hides a dark secret.
5) Stuart – Early-twenties. Stuart suffers from autism and has few real friends other than his older sister Tamsin.
6) Female Ghost – Mid-twenties, attractive. This appirition is seen only by Stuart. She bears more than a passing rembelance to his older sister Tamsin. This part requires moderate nudity.
7) Farmer – A cynical misery in his forties. He rents Gillian’s family an old cottage on his run down farm.
NB: All characters need to have a slight Yorkshire accent with the exception of Robert and the ghost.
This is a microbudget feature so we can only offer expenses and a copy of the film. However, we do hope the film will provide a useful and fun experience for all those involved as well as good exposure (we have a strong marketing plan in place).
