Quick casting notice.
My company Jinx Media is best known for low-budget horror comedies. They come out on DVD and people seem to like them. In fact, we're shooting another one, (BrainBath), at the end of the year, but that's not what I'm posting this notice for.
Prior to the BrainBath shoot, we're shooting something a bit different. It's dark and strange and funny, and more performance-driven than things we've done before. It's our secret project; different to the stuff that we usually do, so we can't guarantee that it'll reach the same kinds of market. Tiny, tiny, tiny budget. Several rehearsal periods followed by a lightning fast shoot.
There will still be fake blood, just not as much as usual.
There will also be loud guitar music involved.
Anybody checking our IMDB stuff will notice that we often use the same actors over again, which means we don't often post casting notices. The main prompt for this one actually going out is the lead role. We're after a fantastic, naturalistic actress around the 25-35 mark, with an fearless spirit and preferably a rock n roll singing voice, (if we find the perfect actress and she can't sing a note, looping is an option, just not an ideal). The role is a notorious burlesque shock-rocker, (think a female version of Marilyn Manson/Rob Zombie), so timidity and shyness are not an option. That's Erika. If you happen to be Erika, or able to transform into her, let us know.
If you happen to not be Erika, but want to get involved anyway, feel free to drop us a line too, (although we're likely to fill most other roles with recurring actors and crew from our previous movies).
Contrary to popular belief, getting your movies into Blockbuster does not guarantee getting any money whatsoever, so we're still completely micro-budget. You get a cool credit, a hopefully enjoyable experience, expenses, food and treated nicely, but if you're looking for decent money I'm afraid you're out of luck. We're a nice team to work with, though.
