Equity seeks TUC Conference Support - Up-Front Both unions Equity & Bectu, are calling for TUC Conference support (10-13 September 2007); to get the government to: Close the current loophole which allows fraudulent up-front fees to be charged by bogus employment agencies in the entertainments industry; where absolutely no punitive action is taken, by Employment Agency Standards. To make clear National Minimum Wage Regulations; that agency workers do have a right to the NMW; after any agency deductions. That there must be a time limit, within which workers in the entertainments industry must be paid by employers/hirers; instead of having to wait 3 months or more; for only a single day’s wages.
