Metto Productions is looking for a black actor to take the central role of Ama in their upcoming low budget feature. We will be shooting on HD and dates are from March to June. SYNOPSIS: London – present day. Azra is newly arrived from Turkey and is finding her feet in a new city. She has found a job, a flat, and she has found a friend in Ama, a young African student who lives in her building. But then everything begins to change. Azra starts having dreams of accidents, hospitals and the letters A M. Ama? Is her new friend in danger? Are the threats of racist, white power fanatic Mark real? Is he the one who will be the cause of Ama’s injuries? Or is the answer something else entirely… PRODUCTION COMPANY: Amoc is the first collaboration between experienced writer / director Erim Metto and writer Victoria Howell. A tightly written thriller, this independent feature focuses on the experiences of a young girl and her relationship with those around her as she struggles to unravel the mystery of her dreams. Sharp, moving and contemporary, Amoc will keep you guessing to the very end. Previous films by Metto Productions have been well received at festivals and we aim for Amoc to be widely shown at festivals. The film is low budget so we can only offer expenses but all cast will get full credit, a copy of the completed film on dvd, food and a great working environment! CASTING DETAILS: AMA - mid 20s - Ama is a medical student from KwaZulu in South Africa and is in his final year at UCL. He is quiet and studious, very intelligent, but he has a sparkle in his eye and a great sense of fun. He is a glass half full, optimistic person, but his patience is tested by the racism of his neighbour and Azra's fears that he may be attacked. Please send cvs and headshots to emetto@hotmail.com. If you have a showreel, send us the link, or contact us for details of the postal address. Please note, Ama is the only role we are currently seeking submissions for.
