I recently worked for a company called Lightstorm Entertainment, making a short TV pilot. I signed a contract and was told I would receive expenses, which I had to fork out myself upfront to the tune of over £100. I did the project and I have never heard from them since. I then contacted some other members of the cast recently and none of them have ever received their expenses. I have contacted Equity who are looking into this, however I feel actors should consider very carefully before accepting work on an expenses-only basis. Any reputable project worth working on should have some kind of budget, however small.
