Sound recordist required for a short film shooting 29th September till 8th October. The film is called “Cutting Down” and will be shot on Super 16mm. “Cutting Down” is an independent, privately funded film. Agile Films has involved itself on the basis of the strength of the script and the previous work of the director, Felix Harrison. Everyone, including the Agile staff will be working for free on this project. We would be able to put something towards the sound equioment if privately owned and also cover the insurance.
The film follows the strains of a father making a half-hearted attempt to take his son out for the day. What starts out as an intended trip to the cinema turns into an obstinate attempt by the father to sabotage their day out to return home early and 'catch' his ex-wife with another man.
Poignant and well observed- Felix Harrison’s script captures true elements of arrested development in adults, and it's contagious effect to the children that look up to them
This will be of interest to anyone who is looking gain experience within the industry. As well as anyone who would like to get to know more people committed to making high quality films with young talent.
We are looking to show the film in Edinburgh as well as other reputable film festivals, such as Cannes, Berlin, Venice, and Sundance.
We are able to pay travel expenses and food and supply a DVD copy of the film.
Please send all applications to jobs@agilefilms.com. Please do not apply to any other position other than the ones advertised. Script available on request.
