We are looking for various enthusiastic crew members to join the production team for a low-budget black comedy shooting in London between 27rd-29th April.
Roles that need filling:
• Production Designer/Art Director
• Gaffer
• Sound Recordist
• Boom Operator
• Props Person
• Wardrobe
• Make up inc. some SFX makeup
• Van Driver
Short synopsis:
Matthew, an introverted painter, lives at home with his mother Marianna, a widow of a soldier killed in combat. Neither of them has been able to make meaningful friendships throughout their lives, due to the family’s former movement from army base to army base. Mother and son take solace from each other’s company in a routine existence governed by meal times.
That all changes when Katrina, a beautiful, metaphor sprouting art buyer, arrives on the scene. The eccentric redhead takes a real interest in Matthew’s work, the two spending increasing amounts of time together.
When the young couple announce they are heading to New York to try to secure Matthew an exhibition, Marianna knows that if she doesn’t act quickly, her son will leave her all alone and her whole existence will be thrown into turmoil.
The question is: how far will a mother go to keep hold of her son?
We are shooting on HD and aim to have the film screened in both national and international festivals. Unfortunately, due to financial restrictions, these are expenses only positions, but a copy of the DVD will be provided as will full catering on set. We have other projects in the pipeline so just because there is no money on offer now, there may well be in the near future.
