We are looking for an SFX person to design some stunning effects for our short film: “A Pack of Pain” which will be a slick stylish 14min conspiracy thriller set in the East London. The film tells the story of Dante, an Italian hitman dying from lung cancer and his crusade of revenge on a leading tobacco company based in London and its corrupt government officials who are working in local hospitals. The film will be shot in black and white, there will be a lot of action scenes on the roof tops with breathtaking views of the City of London and plenty of cigarette smoke in the background I would love to see realistic special effects that will serve the story, blow people’s minds and bring up the value of the production. The story will require you to make effects of people being hit by bullets including showing someone’s head being blown off with a 9mm at close range; creating nightmare scenes of the main character being burnt by arms with cigarettes coming out of darkness, building a portable intravenous drop with red liquid moving up and down inside the tubes, building us a small rain machine, and helping us to make use of large industrial fan and fog machines during the shoot. We are planning to shoot in the middle of the March. This is a completely independent production so we cannot afford to pay anyone, but all the travel expenses and food will be provided. There is a small budget for the SFX department, we can also provide facilities, a big space in an East London warehouse where all the crazy effects can by created.
