“I was there, I went to the first one”.
The B-Movie Festival August 17 – 19 in Franklin Indiana is going to be an event Indy film makers will consider the Cannes of North America.
Visit the web site http://bmoviecelebration.bside.com/ to see the amazing list of movies to choose from, the exciting people to meet, the off-campus events to attend. Plan your weekend now because once you get there you won’t know which way to turn.
Start the Friday night at the “B-Movie Celebration Opening Gala”. A fantastic chance to meet with and share opinions with some of the legends of B filmmaking such as Conrad Brooks, Tom Savini, Jim Wynorksi, Lloyd Kaufman and many others.
Over the weekend you can drop in on Jim Wynorski Retrospective or the “1 day 99 Film School” even “A Script Boot Camp” on the Saturday morning.
Why not have breakfast and a movie on Sunday. Almost anything is possible.
If you want to be a filmmaker you will not find a better place to make contacts, talk film, pick-up ideas, get advice and while doing this have a great time.
Get hints on special effects from the local master, David Schlatter, or about the music from “Electrical Skeletal"- presenting the music of the Sci-Fi Death Rock band - Casket Architects.
There is something for everybody.
Budding directors should drop in on the “Directors Round Table” and Jim Wynorksi’s “My life as a B – Director”. Emerging writers can catch a discussion between working writers.
Producers should take the time to hear the incorrigible Lloyd Kaufman “Make your own damm movie”. And see Lloyd receive a “Lifetime Achievement Award” presented by actor Steve “Papaw” Pyatte, one of your hosts.
Actors, don’t miss Conrad Brooks, one of the leads of “Plan 9”, provide a blow by blow account of making this B classic.
All this and more is possible because of the fastest growing web site in the film industry, started by Independent Producer Bill Dever just over a year ago.
“The Indy Film Coop”, http://www.indyfilmco-op.org. Take a moment and expand your world.
Take a weekend and expand your career.
