I did not train in film school but I gave lectures (as guest) in them here and in LA. I became known as 'scary' because I told them that they can play around with arty stuff at college but the moment they leave the one out of the 150 in the class who actually makes it in the business will be a prostitute like me. Pandering to what will actually sell. This person will be broke for most of their life. The rest will do very well indeed in some funding or art institute and spend their whole life thinking they are in the business because they are meeting regularly with the blessed and famous. ....wait a minute. what the heck am I doing being the minority???? I am donning my black suit and clipping on a pony tail this instant and going to try to get work at the film council. Mind you I am over 40 so that leaves me out. Maybe they should have a policy about old people. or have they??
