International Students Film and Theatre Festival SKENA UP third edition will take place From November 10 – 17, 2005 in Prishtina and under the patronage of Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports chaired by Mr. Astrit Haraqija.
In this edition there will be shows from the following schools: American Film Institute USA, National Film and Television School London UK, International Film School EICAR Paris France, Film Academy Baden-Württemberg Germany, Film Academy Vienna Austria, University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna Austria, FAMU Czech Republic, Academy of Performing Arts Sarajevo B&H, Academy of Dramatic Arts Zagreb Croatia, BK Academy Beograd Serbia & Montenegro, Marubi Film and Multimedia School Tirana Albania, Victoria College of The Arts Film and Television School Melbourn Australia, Faculty of Arts Prishtina Kosova, Academy of Film and Television Prizren Kosova, Saint Luke College Brussels Belgium, Hocney Community College London UK, Royal Academy of Fine Arts Gent Belgium, School For New Dance Development Amsterdam Holland, Bizkaia Theatre School Bilbao Spain, Faculty of Dramatic Art Skopje Macedonia, Academy of Arts Tirana Albania, Academy of Arts Prishtina Kosova.
SKENA UP Festival is also sponsored by Procredit Bank, US Office in Prishtina, Dukagjini, Prohelvetia, British Council, French Liaison Office in Prishtina, Prishtina Municipality, Prishtina University, GTZ Prishtina, Air Kosova.
While Radio Television of Kosova - RTK, CMB production and daily paper LAJM are the media sponsors of the festival.
The SKENA UP Festival opening ceremony will take place at the National Theatre of Kosova on November 10th, at 20:00 hrs.
Every day, starting from 11:00 hrs there is going to be a round table at Café Bar KONTRA which is also going to be the meeting place for the participants; at 13:00 there will be shown films at ABC Cinema; every day there will be lectures at the Faculty of Arts premises and run by various international theatre and film experts while starting from 18:00 and 21:00 there will be theatre shows at National Theatre of Kosova. Every evening starting from 23:00 at Café Bar KONTRA there will be an after-party where well known Kosovar bands and DJ’s are going to perform.
Festival will also have in its program two workshops that will be run by Feri & Noortje from Le Grand Cru Amsterdam – Holland and Balbir Singh & Giuliano Modarellli from England (NSDF)
SKENA UP Festival closing ceremony will take place on November 17th starting from 20:00 that is going to be the award announcing evening where will be given prices for film and theatre and in this edition there will be given the following prices:
Best Feature Film
Best Documentary Film
Best Animation Film
Best Theatre Show
“new spirit” for an original outreach in theatre
Best Director
Media Price
“ADRIANA” Price, given by DODONA Theatre for the best male or female actor
“Melihate Ajeti” Price for a Promising Actress.
Jury’s Special Price
SKENA UP Board Price
A ticket for one day program film shows at ABC Cinema will coast 1 Euro while the ticket for theatre shows at National Theatre will coast 1 Euro for each show, except for the Festival’s opening and closing evening which is going to be only for those invited by the Festival.
