With respect Mr. Bennett, had Mr. Johns message come through a normal spam channel it would have been deleted without a second thought. I have made my point very clearly and so have the other users of this board and you are in the minority when you almost condone Mr. Johns actions. The majority of users of this an numerous other sites like this are very familiar with the difficulties faced when trying to fund a feature and I, like I'm sure you have too, have worked on numerous deferred, lo or no pay projects wether you are just starting out or not. I did a feature film during the summer with an A list cast (Brian Cox, Billy Boyd, Johnny Lee Millar) and not one of us has been paid. Not because we agreed to work for free but due to the production company declaring bankrupcy protection almost the day before shooting was completed. The appointed receiver is now offering us a production points system to write off the debt so the film can be completed and, in theory, be sold. Film finance has always been a tricky business and you either have to get financially creative or some really quality scripts would never get put into production. I say again. My primary greivance was Mr. Johns complete lack of respect for us as actors indicated by his attempt to sell us "fame". Had he walked into my local pub and disrespected my friends, like he did here on UKScreen, he would have got a similar agressive response. I have offered to assist in arranging finance for this project through my contacts and if Mr. Johns has a genuine project I am more than willing to give him some guidance of how to go about raising 500K. It isn't going to happen by the end of January as these things are never that quick but I have in the past raised this sort of money within a year to get a quality script into production. I have yet to receive any response to this offer from Mr. John or his associates. Can I be fairer than that? Is this now the final word? Regards, ForbesKB
