Model Management Alert ! Casting Directory only, work-seeking service, West 1, were in Bristol on 26/27 January, they booked the Ramada Jarvis Redcliffe hotel, under an assumed name of 'First Class Trading'. See the Bristol Evening Post report, 'CASTING AGENCY DUPED OUR KIDS' click: http://www.epost.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=145365&command=displayContent&sourceNode=145191&contentPK=19698442&folderPk=83726&pNodeId=144922 West 1 were also in Hull on 2/3 February; and again used the name of 'First Class Trading' when booking the hotel, 'Quality Hotel Royal'; but as soon as the hotel manager was made aware of the agency working practices; the booking was cancelled. West 1 then moved to the Holiday In Extra hotel. Thanks to Alan Brent from the Yorkshire Equity branch, local radio station 'Viking FM' put out hourly alerts warning the public, click: http://www.anactor.net/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/vikingradio1feb08.mp3 A lady who had been to the previous venue, by West 1, 6 months earlier; went last weekend and demanded her money back; she was successful in getting her £189 refunded. But, the new fee charged by West 1, has gone up this year to £249.50; the government EAS Regulations state such a fee must be reasonable? West 1 have now changed their trading name from 'Model Management UK ', to just 'Model Management' according to their publicity material handed out at the hotel. The agency has also stopped showing their real limited company name, which is illegal under Company House Regulations and EAS Regulations. In their advert there is nothing showing any name at all, which breeches EAS Regulations and is in direct contradiction of their promise over a year ago to the Advertising Standards Authority Adjudication that they must state their real company name in their advert. Neither do they mention a fee is payable which again breeches yet another year old adjudication by the ASA... Of course the government stated on 29 Jan08, "But where there is persistent offences; we will prosecute."
