Dear Martyn,
No body dreams becoming a TV extra, if they do, then they are in for a shock. You don't meet the stars, you don't get treated like a star, you stand around for up 8 hours then suddeenly you are asked to walk past that window, or sit at that table in the background.
There are several agencies that deal with extras, and you ring them up and they will tell you they are not taking on more people. those agencies that will and then ask you for money will get you No work, no audtions, no nothing, EVER!
