Advice on writing for established comedians wanted

I've recently started writing down a whole host of comedy ideas that have been flying around my mind for some time now - routines for the likes of Harry Hill, Johnny Vegas, Jack Dee, Bill Bailey etc. but have no idea as to how to approach them/their agents.
Obviously I don't want to give away ideas for nothing, but in order to estalish myself as someone with a creditable track record I need to get some interest.
So what's the best course of action? Send whole scripts out, or just a handful of lines as a taster? And should I write to the comedians directly or their agent? And what's the going rate for 10 minutes of material that actually gets used?
Questions, questions...
