About:
|
My first professional work was at the age of 14 with the Rollingstock theatre company based at the Lyceum Theatre in Crewe. I continued my association with this 700 seater Edwardian theatre for several years performing in major youth Shakespeare productions through the Cheshire Education Committee and Peter Dornford May, obtaining my equity card there in 1985 having been offered the lead in Butterflies are free with Daphne Oxenford playing my mother. I became assistant and later stage manager there for Garrick House limited under Stephen Wischusen and appeared in many Repertory productions including playing Toad in the musical version of "Wind in the willows". I have appeared in literally hundreds of TV shows gaining valuable experience at several levels from basic walk on to credited parts to the main role in a major commercial for JJB sports Which you can access currently in my showreel (hard to get anything down to 2mb). I have also frequently been cast as a regular supporting artiste for series like "Staying alive", Red Dwarf"and "Boon" where my reliability was rewarded. I have some experience in voice overs for training and advertising and dubbing foreign films. Most notably playing voices in 3 films for ECO Cardiff directed by Hywel Jones. I have also done numerous audio plays e.g. working with Clive Merrison and Deborah Watling in "The Barnacled Baby" for BBV. You can hear my voice by going to www.sponsor-link.com/systemfeatures.htm and clicking on the lotto or euro millions logos. This is a recent corporate job from just before xmas 05 I am also a very experienced pantomime performer. Working at all levels from small hit and run holiday treat pantos to big star name shows, working opposite Vince Hill,The Chuckle Brothers, Linda Nolan, Clodagh Rogers, Don Maclean, Geoff Capes, Diddy David Hamilton etc. I have consistently worked for Stanley Sher enterprises (although Stan is sadly no longer with us) for nearly twenty years, most recently appearing as the Wolf in "Little Red Riding Hood" at The Georgian Theatre in Richmond in january 2004. I tend to specialise as Panto Villain For the last two years I have been employed by Presto Puppets as a puppeteer following a recording session job playing various voices in their production of Aesop's fables. For a hobby I'm an enthusiastic amateur film maker and have received awards from all round the world for my films, including a British amateur video award, best actor from the IAC and best comedy from The american institute of cinematography. I am been involved in a production entitled "Vermin" for scvs and would like to thank the members of UKSCREEN that have helped us so far. I have also helped other amateur film-makers from as far afield as the Surrey institute of art and design and Carlisle college media students. I have a large costume store in my attic which is very useful and comprehensive. I Have helped fellow UKscreen members in a Dinner theatre Production of The Importance of Being Ernest at in Manchester playing Dr Chasuble
