How to make a Low Budget Scottish Feature Film and get it screened at Cineworld!
How do you get your feature film noticed in amongst all the mighty Hollywood blockbusters? It is possible - we've done it!
GAMERZ is an independent Scottish comedy opening at Cineworld cinemas in Edinburgh and Glasgow on 22nd February 2008. Even when talking low-budget, you can push your film to the top and be seen.
Meet the Director, Producer and cast, see clips from GAMERZ and unseen footage of how we made the film. If you are a rising film producer, director, or actor then this event is for you. Watch, look, listen and ask questions - this is a one-off opportunity to find out first-hand all you need to know but were afraid to ask. And it's all FREE!
Date: SATURDAY 16th February 2008 @ THE STAND COMEDY CLUB, 5 York Place, Edinburgh.
Time: 4pm - 6pm
FREE ENTRY (min. age 15)
Visit www.thestand.co.uk for full details…

Thank you ukscreen- This site has made breaking into acting that bit easier. All users are friendly and helpful, like a nice little community. The fact that I am the first option on google and aol when typing in my name is excellent. Ukscreen your rock!

Dear UKscreen,
I specialise in writing lyrics -- for film, theatre and stand-alone songs. However I can find no category for this... seems an omission for a 'FIlm and Music Network'. Otherwise the site looks great!

Dear UK Screen, many thanks for providing such a comprehensive resource for everyone connected to this industry and its affiliates. Just a thought, should you add DVD to the "credits" section as it is now the favoured media? Regards.PZ.

I would just like to take a hot minute to say how cool I think this site is. it's a very nicely designed website with many cool features and it offers a great chance to meet people in the performing arts.

Hi UK screen. You have been the greatest asset for me since I came a few years ago. Now I am the hottest television network ready to launch in 2006. All projects after this year will be charged a fee to be on our worldwide network. But I will only go thru you all for the european artist and models.
You all have the sexyist and the most talented folks since. keep it up everyone. One day we all will be UK screen success stories.
Peace and God Bless to all members

A big thank you to UK screen. A director for a sky channel phoned me up out of the blue and I'm now presenting a live show! Not to mention the many extra parts in various things that I got through UK screen as well. A great way to get your foot in the door. For all you beautiful people on your way to stardom, keep the dream alive............Good luck xxx

Congratulations UKScreen, while another film network nearly ruined my first film, I was saved by UKScreen. A Film network full of professionals and not full of desperates men looking for a date.

One thing that'd be cool is a way to send messages to other Ukscreen users of a non-professional nature.
You know, little "Hi, nice to meet you" kinda things. I'd never contact anyone here, because it's a work site, but it'd nice to have the option.
Mark.

Best site there is for networking... but just wondered if there was a way comments could be added under photos when you upload them to explain them... I have an event/publicity company and it would be useful if I could put up photos from events and explain who the people are/who hired us etc etc. ???

A very useful site. So user friendly, even an old duffer like me can negotiate my way around it with ease. Keep up the good work!

Hi,
Love the site. I have had much professional attention from being here, most recently a lead in a feature film, so am happy with the service.
I have one suggestion however that would improve my appreciation of the site. The credits. The way you can edit credits is a bit awkward. It's very difficult to shift credits around. Spotlight's credit system is good, cos you create a credit, and then move it around. Here, you'd have to move EVERY credit word by word to do that.
Just a suggestion.
Keep up the great work!

This site is ingenious. I put together my page, and almost instantaneously I started getting more work. I really appreciate those of you who listened to my music and had such good things to say. It's also very nice to be able to help others with work and with their careers. That's probably the most rewarding part of this site. Thanks again.

I DO LIKE THIS WEBSITE, ITS VERY FRIENDLY AND FULL OF USEFUL CONTACTS AND CASTINGS ETC. HOWEVER ONE THING THAT DRIVES ME ABSOLUTELY CRAZY IS PEOPLE NOT PUTTING LOCATIONS IN THE SUBJECT FIELD. I LIVE IN SCOTLAND AND I'M REGULARLY HAVING TO TRAWL THROUGH CASTING AFTER CASTING UNTIL I FIND ANY IN SCOTLAND. ANYONE ELSE AGREE WITH ME??

Great site !! Thank you !!
I would like to suggest that you give more choice, in the Edit CV section, for voice-over work. Rather than just lump all voice-over work as 'Radio'
What do you think ?

I really love this website...full of great people and nice little touches, like the fact that if you put certain common keywords into a google search..i come top of the list!!! (Made me laugh when i came higher than the big company i used to work for even when i put their full name in the search engine!) It would be ace for members to have a chatroom facility wouldnt it...surely this would spark new ideas and collaborations and make assignments easier to get! Overall this site is ace and is a brilliant way to get people listening to my music. Well worth the money spent! A+

During February/March of this year someone maliciously accessed my pages and caused severe damage to my reputation. The matter is currently being dealt with by the police but thanks to Husam at UK Screen, details were provided to enbale action to be taken against the person concerned.
The fact that he was able to assist in this matter reassures me that UK Screen provide the very best of service to all advertisers and that if they are aware of any problems/issues they will do their utmost to resolve it.

Hi there..! This is Wayne! I've been on this site for almost a year..
I must say, it's a good site for getting people in all aspect of films and TV together..
At the moment, I'm currently developing a horror flick which is going to be shot later this year..
Since I've been doing this.. I've had a lot of contacts from people ranging from music composers to special effects wizards.. I must say, that's good!
Well, I'm keeping fingers crossed now.. I'm hoping that this project will go all the way..
Hey! If anyone cast or crew wishing to expand their talent on this horror flick..
feel free to check out my webpage or leave a message..
I think 2003 is gonna be a great year..
Best wishes to all filmmakers, cast and crew on this site..

What a wonderful site. I stumbled across it by chance. I have had a possitive feedback from people visiting my site to view and hear my compositions. Someone said UK screen should be promoted more.
Perhaps If everyone puts a link onto their own web site pointing to UK screen, that would be a start.I've already done it. I assume that this is allowed?
Thanks

This is a really good site and I've had a few jobs from it. I always give my UKscreen page to people rather than send them a full CV and photo as some mailboxes are just not big enough to take pics.
Thanks

i have only recently joined this brill web site. I have met so many great and enthusiastic people. The best of which is Phillip Dale a composer scoring my film. I have to say after many years in this business he is the fastest and most tallented composer I have had the pleasure of listening too. I dont have shares in him (yet!!) but look no further if you want that award winning score.

Hi guys,
I am currently involved in a rather large and ambitious sci-fi action movie called "Union". We have been on the Ross King show on Radio Clyde here in Scotland twice now, and we gave your UKscreen website a good plug, as a way of saying "thank you". If it hadn't been for the director seeing my page on UKscreen.com, I probably wouldn't have landed the lead role!!!
Many thanks, and keep up the good work.

Just quick note to say Tks guys for such a wonderful resource. For those of
us who have been elbowed off Phony, sorry, Sony's Shooting People - you are
a life-saver. The response to our short film casting has been fantastic and
we advise you to hold onto your hats - We think you'll be flooded with
masses of new members.
You have admitted one important factor however: When is the Party!!!
Good Luck and Tks again

Well laid out and usefull site that fills a big gap. Great idea! Congratulations! My only complaint would be it's style or rather the lack of it. The Graphic Design of the site is very poor and does not do justice to the fantastic content. I'd suggest using less colours and tidy up the navigation bars. These changes would make the site much more effective. Good luck and thanks! V.

On Wed Jan 23rd I received the message below, in Singapore, via my UK Screen web page, from a director in the UK. Within an hour of receiving it, I had confirmed my availability, send the UKScreen web pages of various sound recordists (Mark Roberts, Josh Talbot) and assistants (Amelia Tsu Tian) who are all operating in Asia, to the director in England, who confirmed the job and crew within two days. Exactly one week after the initial enquiry, the global crew he selected all met for the first time as a team, in Bangkok and over the next two weeks shot 30 rolls of 16:9 Digibetacam roll in Thailand, HK and Japan.
This is how good the UKScreen system really is.!!

Dear Sir
Six months ago, a Turkish producer based in Istanbul went looking globally, via the web, for an aerial cameraman to shoot a film on supersonic acrobatics and eventually discovered UK Screen.
On that site he then discovered me , Laurie Gilbert DOP, in Singapore.
The end result was a 45 day shoot, at full daily US dollar rates, in the skies of Turkey with the Turkish Air Force acrobatic Team. The results were one of the most extraordinary, extreme and enjoyable projects I have shot in 27 years.
Thank you UK Screen
