Africa On Screen T.V productions established in 1987 by film pioneer in Swaziland Hanson Ngwenya (Rev) produces drama for the purposes of not only entertaining the audience but also to educate.Composed of a production team that includes Ivor Coglin former Brodcast manager with Swazi Television-Africa On Screen is a leading production house in Swaziland. Ngwenya (Rev) a qualified filmmaker is the operation director. He has worked as a journalist for 16 years hence his unchallenged accuracy and "reality" in every script he has created. Swazi Television the country's only television station has relied on AOS productions for localization of programmes.Ngwenya (Rev) popularly known as Hanson was involved in the creation of the filmmakers Assocation of Swaziland and is its president. He leads production houses including the Deaf Power proeduction established by Nenio Mbazima a young martial artist who has studied Brodacast Television through the Wits School Arts in South Africa. Nenio a Deaf has shown dedication and with the help of AOS has had his productions on Swazi T.V.Hanson who produced thef irst ever drama to be screened in 1987 has produced HIV/AIDS Awareness promos for television. Dramatized poetry for television, a drama on HIV/AIDS, Aclohol, and Drug awareness. "I beleieve that the screen should be used for entertainment but our Aaudio-visual is power! theme should not end in entertainment but restoration of the moral eroding moral fibre should be can only be realised through television screening.Ngwenya who is also a church minister with the United Methodist Episcopal Church has publicy condemned advertising of alcohol and cigarrettes on the electronic media. He is also member of Natioonal Advisory Committee on Substance Abuse (NACSA). He is in the commmittee for Drug demand reduction under the ministry of Health, and his work has been recognised by United nation Agencies such as UNFPA, UNICEF, WHO. To name but a few Hanson is Swaziland's representative in the Southern Africa Communications for Development-a Southern Africa ogrnaization for filmmakers on developmental issues.
