Make-up Designer/Artist/Hairdresser/Historian available for film, TV, Theatre, Internet/Photography work. All aspects of make-up and face/body painting undertaken including Airbrushing, Temporary Tattoos, Mendhi, Balmain Hair Extensions, Hair cutting and Styling to Advanced Level.
I have worked on a variety of television programmes including 'Embarrassing Bodies' and 'Ancient Plastic Surgery', 'Helen of Troy' documentaries as well as on a number of commercials.
I specialise in medical effects/SFX make-up and also Historical hair and make-up. I hold a part-time academic post in the History of Medicine Unit based at The University of Birmingham where I lecture history of medicine and 'make-up' participants to have a variety of conditions such as Bubonic Plague, Syphilis and Fractures.
I have just qualified in Advanced Avant Garde hairdressing for Women and am as interested in hair as I am in make-up.
As costume Assistant I have worked with Take That, The Jonas Brothers, The Police and Kiss as well The Birmingham Opera Company (make-up designer/artist and costume).
I recently qualified in advanced avant-garde hairdressing and enjoy creating beautiful historical hairstyles as well as alternative creations.
I have always had an interest in the theatre, starting my degree as a performance artist before changing to media studies and history of art. I have been a member of a number of theatre and film-making groups and was a volunteer for three years at the Crescent Theatre in Birmingham, making costumes as well as hair and make-up. I love the energy of working towards a common goal with actors, models, photographers, directors and all the other hard working professionals involved in ‘show time’.
