John Crumpton
About:
I have been working in the film and television industry since graduating with a first class degree in Fine Art in the mid 1970s. For the last twentyyears I have been employed as a freelance sound editor by all the major terrestrial broadcasters, and have worked on a wide range of dramas, documentaries and comedies.
I have more recently specialised in dialogue and ADR editing, as I enjoy working with actors, writers, and directors as part of the creative process. Nevertheless, I consider myself equally adept at music and effects work, particularly in facing the challenge offered by period productions.
I have been nominated three times for the Best Sound BAFTA, in 1996,1999 and 2000 and won the award in 1996 for Jimmy McGovern/Charles McDougall's 'Hillsborough'.
