I am an experienced and flexible DV Director, Lighting Cameraman and Editor, based just one hour from central London in the Kent countryside, with my own kit and editing facilities.

I am organised and resourceful; punctual, professional and polite; and I have good interpersonal and practical skills. Also, I enjoy travelling and am willing to take on both short and longer term productions, working with just a presenter/subject or a full size crew. In short I am easy to work with, flexible and accommodating whilst still achieving artistic and captivating pictures & sound. As an experienced editor I always shoot for the edit and combine extensive technical and storytelling skills with great team work to make working with me fun, efficient and effective.

DV Director, with own full kit
I have a comprehensive DV Directing kit based around the latest, top of the range small Sony widescreen camera; includes radio mics & boom sound kit, with additional lighting and complete editing available. Full size DSR DVCam and DVW DigiBeta camera kits also available. Initially trained as an engineer and cameraman, I have been self directing for several years on a variety of productions.

A highly experienced cameraman
I am fluent and proficient with all types of television camera, from full size DigiBeta and DVCam to PD150, HVR-Z1 and the new HVR-A1 miniature HDV camcorders.

Artistic location lighting
I enjoy lighting location & interview shoots properly and artistically to give beautiful and captivating pictures. I have extensive portable lighting kits, plus experience and access to a great variety of other specialised lighting techniques.

Editor & DVD Authoring
In addition to camera based work I also have considerable Post Production experience. Comprehensive non-linear editing facilities, with full Adobe suite, including After Effects for graphics, animation and detailed colour grading; DVCam based. Shoot and edit package rates available. DVD production, Authoring and duplication service also available.

Since leaving the BBC I have worked on a wide variety of productions, including Corporate, non-broadcast, retail, events, science, business, music, factual, documentary, childrens and drama. Whilst at the BBC I worked on News, in studios, on location and in control rooms - again a real variety!
As a flexible television professional I apply my skills and working practices equally across all genres. I always work to best practice and strive to capture artistic and captivating images.
