Kenneth Morrison

Subtitler, Translator
About:
I'm Kenneth or Coinneach Morrison, originally from Lewis in the Western Isles, but now living in Oxfordshire, having spent ten years subtitling for ITFC in London. Prior to that, I was employed as a subtitler/translator for Cānan Ltd, a media support unit based on the Isle of Skye. I've been working freelance for the last few years and have my own subtitling equipment, but am available to work on site as well as remotely.

Training and Skills

Other Skills:
Bilingual Gaelic/English speaker.
I'm a subtitler with experience of production of offline subtitles for broadcast and DVD as well as translation templates. I now offer audio (DSS, WAV & MP3) and timecoded video transcription (most formats) and conversion from VHS to digital formats. I recently began to offer a film transcription and subtitling service, and have worked on a number of features, including The Queen, Hallam Foe and Flawless.
I have worked as a translator and interpreter and have experience in technical language. Some recent projects have involved multilanguage subtitling of DVDs, so I have coordinated translation and proofing as well as subtitle production.

Additional Information

I hold a BSc(Hons) in Microbiology and a postgraduate diploma in Broadcasting, speak some very basic French, German and Spanish and enjoy badminton and various forms of dance.
