Lou is an NFTS producing graduate with ten years of experience in the development and production of shorts, features and TV drama. She set up her own Brighton/London based production company (Whistling Thorn Films ltd) in 2002 after helping to set up a new London based Film School (LFA) and having a child. The company has developed a broad slate of film and TV drama over the paste few years including a 6 part series with the BBC based on two books"Alison Wonderland" and "Being Light" and feature film adaptations including a script based on an international bestselling book, "Changing Places, by David Lodge, a treatment written by Deborah Moggach, based on a best selling book and "Seville", a comedy drama, based on BBC 4 radio play by BAFTA award winning writer Paul Mendelson. The company also executive produced two Screen South/UK Film Council backed shorts in Odd Shoe in 2007 (screened at South by South West, Chicago, Oberhausen, Uppsala, Sarasota, Waterfront, LA) and Off Season, directed by Deena Lombardi, in 2008. Off Season is premiering at Encounters 2008 and has been selected by UKFilm Council for promotion as one of the UK's short films to watch (Screen International article 14th November 2008). Lou is also writing and currently has a feature script and short in development.
