Hi... I've being working as a designer for quite a while now, and it's amazing how quickly time passes when what you do for a living is such good fun. After working as a junior designer at TWI for a couple of years, I moved back to my home town of Leeds and became a Graphic Designer at Yorkshire Television working mainly on regional promos using Quantel HAL. 2 years later (Nov 2000) found me in Singapore working as a Senior Designer at ESPN STAR Sports in Singapore. In 2006 I was promoted to Manager of the Graphics Department at ESS. Thanks for visiting my place at UKScreen. |

Started out mainly using Paintbox and CG hardware, but quickly learnt the potential in getting to grounds with software based apps, so in the early days of my career I gave up my social life to spend hours in darkened rooms with a pc. Also messed around with a 3 machine digibeta edit suite before really deciding I liked being arty as opposed to... er... editty. After all this prepping I moved jobs and started driving a HAL on a two year journey with occasional pitstops in the Editbox suite, and the After Effects lounge. Then I went skiing, bumped into an ex colleague and the next thing I know I'm in business class to Singapore. These days I'm mostly using After Effects, 3Dsmax, photoshop etc to create titles, promos, ids and other fun stuff... all those days, nights and weeks in that darkened room seem to be paying off.

I'm blessed by the fact that I love what I do in my career, but my absolute passion is music; listening, composing and performing. I play mandolin, guitar, keyboards, bass and have also toyed around with the banjo, dobro, peddle steel and various others over the years. I also produce music using Propellerheads Reason 3.0 on a PC (music on the showreel is my own composition). When it comes to relaxing there's nothing better than picking up an instrument and playing a tune, it's the ultimate mind clearer. Also love to ski, rockclimb, swing a racquet at a tennis ball and the occasional game of squash can be rather satisfying too.
