Hi, my name is Michelle and I am currently a student at University of Huddersfield. I consider myself a broke film fanatic and I am currently trying to get a big project off the ground. I'm exceedingly green but eager to push my ideas foward and I currently have free time between terms. My interests are varied but at the moment I am heavily involved in working with asylum seekers who are having their human rights denied by the British Home Office. I have produced a short docu/interview with an asylum seeker named Navid and I am contemplating directing a longer, full documentary on Asylum seekers in Yorkshire. I am also interested in youth crime and would like to investigate the posibility of doing something around gang violence in the UK.
These ideas have not got passed the treatment stage as yet but due to my inexperience I am eager to work with people who have the time and willingness to get involved in a project from the ground up. I would like to form a production company that could umbrella the documentaries that I intend to make. At the moment the production company is named 'Wide Eyes' of which I am the only employee (LOL).
We only live once and although I'm broke I believe that I have enough vision and determination to get a good project going. The first thing I believe would be getting together with like minded people with a range of experiences and dicussing the possibility of creating this production company and agreeing an initial project! I have very very very basic equipment, as in a good quality camcorder, a tripod, a mic and editing software! Still, every great director started somewhere, eh?

It would be advantageous to meet like minded people who are possibly between projects but would still like to keep working with people like myself who have little experience but wish to gain experience using the 'hands on' approach. Every one and anyone is welcome. I'm based in West Yorkshire at the moment and have my own transport.
