Started writing screenplays in March 2005 and posting them on the InkTip website.
By July of that year, he received his first commission to pen a feature script, ‘Bloody Wicked’, for the established Canadian 'Horror' Director/Producer, David DeCoteau of Rapid Heart Films, (http://www.rapidheart.com ) after David read two of Ron’s screenplays on InkTip.
David commented, “you have a sharp style and an unusual ability to mix humour with horror”.
Shooting should begin on ‘Bloody Wicked’ late 2007 and will give Ron his first IMDb credit.
In December 05, Simon Foster of Covent Garden Films, ( http://www.coventgardenfilms.com ) commissioned Ron to write a Sci-Fi Horror feature, ‘The Darkness’, after he also read his work on InkTip. ‘The Darkness’ is currently with a major studio for consideration as a TV series, using Ron’s script as the opening episode.
Simon commented, “I’ve read five of your scripts and every one is extremely commercial”.
In August 2006, Simon optioned one of Ron’s original script.
Later that year Ron received a further commission from the German director Ingo Storm to write the script for a large budget project, ‘Guilt’, and in December was employed by LA director Andy Lauer, to be the story editor on developing his prize winning short, ‘Little Cuba’ into a feature.
In January 07, Ron was invited to act as the script advisor and moderator by the US producer, Bill Dever for his web site Indie Film Co-op, (http://www.indyfilmco-op.org) and also to write a low budget script for him, ‘Strom Warning’. Shooting starts early 2008.
In addition to this work, Ron has completed ten original, commercially viable screenplays – Friends of my Enemies’ – ‘Boudicca’ – ‘American Genocide’ – ‘The Box’ – ‘The Script Writer’ – ‘Recompense’ – ‘The Jaguar’ – ‘Missing Presumed Dead’ – ‘The Profiler’ and ‘The 13th Sign’.
Five others with writing partners, ‘The Lifeboat’ and ‘Stilettos’ with novelist/actor John Fiore, ‘Kane Farm’ with UK producer Ian Noakes. ‘Out of Nowhere’ and ‘The Gates of Hell’ both with US scriptwriter, Miriam Paschal.
Several of Ron’s scripts are currently under consideration for development by well known producers.
Ron writes in various genre including Action, Thrillers, Horror, Children’s Fantasy, Biographical Drama, Sci-Fi and Comedy.
He is 62, well travelled and was previously a CEO for an international machine manufacturing company and a marketing executive for the Sony Corporation.
His epic poem of 384 verses, ‘Behind the Frozen Waterfall’ was published in February ‘07. His script ‘The 13th Sign’ is based on this saga.
Ron is exceptionally creative, conceiving outstandingly original stories and is undoubtedly a very prodigious writer , as well as being an accomplish pianist and fine arts artist. He is open to assignments from producers and directors. He also enjoys writing with partners.
In August ’07 Ron was invited to the B-Movie Festival in Franklin, Indiana as a guest speaker, to present a writer’s boot camp, sponsored by Final Draft.
