About:  Until going freelance, I spent 3 years working in the BBC with the opportunity to be sole editor on many internal films. These have included a 20 minute film for the BBC's Executive Committee, a 50 minute highlights package of a studio event produced for top commissioners and producers, and a drama pilot (assistant editor) produced by Olivia Lichtenstein amongst many other promos and pilots. I have since worked on short films and various corporate videos outside the BBC. As well as craft-based experience, I have gained a thorough knowledge of the technical aspects of post production (working as an Assistant at Avid Technology and in BBC Post Production) and understand how crucial this is to successful editing. I would like to think those I have worked with have found me to be highly motivated, creative, easy-going, and capable of producing excellent results to a deadline (references/showreel available on request). Training and Skills
Formal Training:  3 years experience editing BBC internal material on Avid + 2 yrs f/l Good knowledge of tape formats/machines and quality control Several craft editing, Avid, After Effects and Photoshop courses Other Skills:  Thorough knowledge of Avid systems (from Xpress DV upwards), gained from working in Avid customer support and the BBC. Good familiarity with most tape formats and machines, and quality control issues. Thorough knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop. CD-ROM authoring and DV camera skills. I have attended many relevant courses, both technical and craft-based, at Avid and the BBC. Equally happy and productive working with clients and under pressure, in a team or on my own.
Additional Information
Outside work I have a keen interest in cricket and other sports, cinema, reading, creative writing and parapsychology (but I'm not a weirdo, honest). I have also recently moved onto a dutch barge (but really, I'm not a weirdo) so learning about life afloat is becoming a hobby in itself. I am currently studying acupuncture at Westminster University.
