Murdo Macleod

Art, Film, Performing, Politics, TV
About:
I am a freelance actor, director, writer and film maker, living in
Glasgow.
I have recently graduated from Glasgow University with a 1st class
degree in Maths, and am now working part time, while pursuing a career
in the film industry.
I have been acting in various school, university and independent
projects since I was 16. These roles include Prospero in a musical
version of The Tempest; Brutus in Shakespeare's 'Coriolanus' and Judge
Wargrave in Agatha Christies 'And then there were None.'
I have directed three stage plays, one of which has been performed in
the Showcase Theatre Festival in St. Andrews.
I have also produced five films, varying in length from 4 minutes to 90,
all shot on DV. The longest: Terror from the Whisky, was shown at Deep
Fried Film Festival 2006 in Airdrie. These have all been filmed on a
voluntary basis with fellow students.
I have written several scripts, both for the screen and the stage. Some
of these are adaptations of old plays (classical Greek and middle
English), others are direct from my own imagination. Eight of these
scripts have been performed at an amateur level.
I have worked, while at Uni, with Glasgow University Student
Television,(GUST) and have some experience of presenting both news and
reviews, of floor managing, graphics, lighting, VT operating. I also
have quite a lot of experience in camera operating, having done this
both with GUST and as part of my own films.
In 2006 I was working at the Edinburgh Festival as a Stage
Technician.
I am a fully qualified Potato Inspector.
