ANIMATOR AND GRADER NEEDED IMMEDIATELY. BRIEFLY: We are in an interesting situation - our kick-**** animator has become ill two-thirds of the way through the project. We need an animator with a wacky sensibility. We are in the last stages on post-production for our feature film The Viva Voce Virus. We are also in need of an imaginative grader who is willing to grade for experience plus deferred payment. The movie (filmed digitally on a Sony PD-150) has four distinct looks - a yellowed, 1970s style (some screen time), a 1950s B&W B-movie style (limited screen time), a glossy modern Hollywood look (limited screen time) and an edgy/indie modern look (most of the film). Someone who is inspired, works fast and is highly creative would be ideal. Payment would be deferred (like for the rest of us, including directors and professional cast/crew). We will be submitting The Viva Voce Virus to festivals - Sundance, SXSW, Raindance, Toronto, Berlin, OUTfest - later this year, and we are trying to finish sound-mixing and animation to that end in the next three months. There's not much left to do - the main thing would be some killer opening titles, putting a virus-like smoke (for which we already have the macros) in a ballroom scene and making it morph into creepy Hollywood-star faces, and some smaller sections would involve having a man burst into flames for a few seconds, making text letters on framed plagues jump out at the viewer and adding the odd twinkle or sparkle a few times. None of it is naturalistic and in fact we would prefer a loose, cartoony, 1970s style. You would pretty much have free reign as to how it looks, following the initial briefing. THE VIVA VOCE VIRUS - SYNOPSIS: The year is 1974. Burt and Buddy are stranded, to their horror, at Gay Andy's Resort and Hotel. There's only one solution: these straight-as-a-die men are going to have to pass until they can escape. Meanwhile, a parallel universe exists – our own, the year 2007, London. Struggling actress Ronnie has just got her first big break in a lesbian vampire B-movie. No one knows she also likes girls off the set. Problems are mounting: assistant director Jesper is a homophobic ****; Ronnie's girlfriend is exasperated; and worst of all, bits of another disturbing world – Gay Andy's – are starting to seep into Ronnie's real life. When Ronnie starts to investigate, she comes across a disease called the Viva Voce Virus that originated in Hollywood's yesteryear. Holding the key to the mystery is former starlet Gloria LaFonche, inventor of a very special cocktail… Contagion. Conspiracy. The Closet. Contact name: Kathleen Bryson
