Cross-Eyed Waltz (aka Pigeons) by Peter Hearn  © 2005

Submitted by:  Amber Moelter
Category: Feature Duration: 75 min Language: English
Format: DV (Digital Video)
Production:
Kicked By A Mule
Description:
'It Only Takes Five Steps To Inherit The Earth'
***Recently nominated for Best Foreign B-Movie at the B-Movie Film Festival in New York***
Shot during Summer 2004 in the South of England, the film follows the life of a news network, 'The Baroque,' that makes the most outrageous stories everyday occurences, until one story comes along to blow them all out of the water. 'The boy who cried wolf' updated for a new generation.
Much talked about in independent film circles, Cross-Eyed Waltz promises to be a riot of colour and chaos, as the extraordinary Otto and Sissi Cross (David Bell, Amber Moelter) lead a cast of extreme characters in the town of Hollow Head Creek.

Comments

1. Tom Wontner  (2005-12-15) It's League of Gentlemen/1984 (Orwell)/Help(Beatles), all mixed up in a way that would make Dali look like a staid realist.
Bizarre and amusing.
2. Colin Blakeston  (2005-05-08) Heard nothing but good things about this movie. Looking forward to seeing it.
3. jim cooper (2005-05-11) Just seen sneak preview - this is something special
4. Sensate Media  (2006-01-09) Some real talent up on the screen. Script could have perhaps benefited from some development... reducing time before main characters introduced, working on creating an "in" for the audience to this surreal world etc etc... But otherwise, amusing, creative and worth a look.
5. patrick swayze (2005-03-23) Fandabidozi
6. Gareth (2005-03-11) classique (ish).... (sub) genius
7. Gareth Wilmot (2005-03-24) An interesting, ultimately satisfying and thoroughly British yarn that gives one hope in no-budget filmaking. Colourful and energetic, this is an unpretentious (if self important) lilttle cracker.
