I consider myself a 21st century composer with an interest in minimalist and neo modern composition techniques although I also write in many other styles. Why state 21st century?
Well, in today's world you simply cannot ignore the computer and the role it plays in modern music.
I am as happy in front of a computer as I am a piano. In fact If I didn't use computers it would be like an 18th-century classical composer not using the piano. It just wouldn't seem right to me.
My music has been described as many things. Some hear noise while others hear clarity, some say complex while others say minimal. Joanne Ball (director) had this to say,
"Your beats are inventive and your melodies beautiful. There is a slightly ominous and haunting edge to your music"
while Imran Butt (director) described some of my electronic compositions simply as "Kinda' dark".
Whatever people say I enjoy playing with rhythmic and melodic development and combining unusual sounds and textures.
I have written for film, tv, stage, radio and for web based media both in classical and contemporary styles.
I play the guitar and piano and I am well versed in all modern composition/production techniques.
I graduated from the Musicians Institute, London with a diploma in music 9 years ago and have been a freelance musician ever since.
I run a small studio just outside of Leeds called paperstreet studios and use fourteen studios when working in London.

I've played guitar, keyboards and sang in too many bands to mention over the years and have had two albums and a Video/DVD released with my last band PO90 all of which I also co engineered/produced. I started engineering/producing local acts and bands about 9 years ago and I really enjoy it! I've been a Pro Tools operator for the same amount of time. I've also composed for video/film and radio which I love doing and I've engineered and mixed many short film projects.
